I first heard of the Lagotto Romagnolo on Burkes Backyard around 1994. Fast forward to 2015 when I was in a position to get my next dog, I wanted my next best friend to be a dog that would enjoy dog sports with me. While I had done obedience and agility with previous dogs, I decided that I would really like to explore some other dog sports like tracking. My wish list included wanting my dog to be relatively long lived (couldn’t face having to say goodbye too soon), athletic, smart and suitable to the dog sports I wanted to explore. I definitely didn’t want a short coated dog (I was over shedding pooches) and I wanted an affectionate mate. So, I decided I was definitely going to go with the Lagotto Romagnolo, and there started my love affair with all things Lagotto.

Mack came into my life and a few weeks later Maddy arrived, and then in 2022 Verona arrived. I love them to bits, all their breed characteristics and behaviours and would be lost without their gregarious personalities.
