I discovered the Lagotto Romagnolo in early 2018. My partner and I wanted to get a dog together, and I had been looking extensively at dog breeds. I was considering a Portuguese Water Dog, but was a bit worried about size and drive, when someone suggested we look at the smaller "Italian Water Dog". We didn't look back and after first meeting his litter in April, welcomed Finn into our home in July 2018.

Finn is a high energy boy who always wants to be involved (so much for the bit about less drive!). He loves to work and that led us to trying some tracking and then falling in love with Rally Obedience. Despite me making a lot of mistakes as a first time dog dad and trainer, we gained our Rally Master title in 2024.

When I'm not being a dog dad, I work as a compliance engineer in the niche field of "explosive atmospheres".
